The project to revamp the Green began last year based on the vision of local people in the area. It aimed to increase the amount of open space, make the surrounding roads safer, improve pedestrian connections but generally just make the Green a more pleasant place for the community to enjoy.

The revamp aimed to significantly increase the amount of space that can be used by people, how it can be used, and how easily people can get to it. The Green now has 75% more grassed area, new timber decking seating and meeting areas, new bins, five new silver birches and 3,900 new plants.

At the heart of the Green is the newly revamped playground designed for toddlers to 12 year olds. Kids will delight in the six new pieces of quality play equipment while their parents will have piece of mind knowing the new playground has rubber safety surfacing, self closing gates and 1.2m high perimeter fencing to keep out dogs, and to keep their children safe.

Many local residents have already flocked to the revamped Green ready to make use of the improved facilities.
