Advice on Planning Applications

Submitting Your Application Online

Applications can be submitted to Islington's Planning Service online by visiting the Planning Portal website (see the link on the right under Useful Websites) and selecting 'General Public'. You will need to register with the website. When your application is submitted it will be automatically routed to Islington's Planning Service.

Submitting a Paper Version of the Form

If you would prefer to submit a paper version of the '1APP' form, you can download the appropriate form by clicking on 'Application Forms and Validation Requirements' under Related Information on the right hand side of this page. The same Islington 1APP forms can also be downloaded from the Planning Portal website.

If you would like to receive a copy of the '1APP' form by post, please contact Planning Services (please see below)

Once you have completed the form, please return it to Islington Council at the address at the top of the form.

Ensuring Your Application is Valid

New validation rules were also introduced on the 6 April 2008. These rules consist of 'national' requirements and 'local' requirements. The validation rules document and the local requirements definitions document are available from the bottom of this page.

Planning Application Fees

Most planning applications require a fee payment. The Schedule of Planning Fees is downloadable from the bottom of this page. Please check the schedule to ascertain the fee amount required form your application.

Getting Planning Advice
