Green travel helps protect the environment by reducing traffic and pollution.

In addition, environmentally friendly transport is also safer. Islington Council has introduced a number of traffic calming and road safety schemes following local consultation, including 20mph zones in residential areas and safer routes to school schemes.

These have cut the number of children killed and seriously injured on our roads by a third.
