Through our association with Local Authority Building Control (LABC), we are able to offer a number of schemes to help our customers through the building control process.
If you're a contractor, architect or developer we may be able to help with fast-tracking the approvals process or inspections.
Obtain approval to the whole scheme early in project.
Staging approvals in phases to fit in with your design process. We recognize the usefulness of staged approvals for large complex schemes.
In some cases starting work on site straight away is the best option.
The opportunity for discussion before application to sort out certain issues is offered.
If you are considering a large building project, it may be worth asking us about the Development Team Approach. This is where all our related services affecting the development are brought together to help the development process.
On a commercial build, lost time represents lost money. We recognise this and usually a morning telephone call will result in a site inspection the same day. Weekend and evening inspections can often be arranged.
The ‘Type Approval’ scheme saves time and money by providing an easy method of registering designs used on a repeat basis nationwide. Standard designs for domestic (in particular for new housing), commercial and industrial buildings, building systems, foundation designs and standard specifications can all be approved under LANTAC. This facility even applies to modular temporary structures. Obtaining a LANTAC type approval means that the design is automatically accepted by Local Authority Building Control organizations through England and Wales.
If you have developed a good working arrangement with Islington Building Control - or perhaps a Local Authority near to your own offices – you can engage in a PAS. The PAS is a unique scheme which allows for architects/developers to form a partnership with one individual Local Authority Building Control organization to assess their Building Regulations submission and gain approval in any Local Authority in England and Wales.
Working in partnership with leading warranty brokers – Bland Bankart and Hallmark, LABC can offer the best latent defect polity on the market, geared at providing unrivalled security backed by Allianz Cornhill and Liberty Legal Indemnities.
