School closures due to severe weather

Schools are closed at the discretion of the headteacher. We will update this page with any other school closures on Friday, if they happen. We have received notice of the following school closures on Friday 8 January 2010:

Primary Schools

• Moreland
• New North Community Primary
• Duncombe

Secondary Schools

• Central Foundation (although a small number of pupils have been invited in for revision study purposes)

Special Schools

• Samuel Rhodes (both primary and secondary departments)
• The Bridge (both primary and secondary departments)

White Lion Centre - where to find services while the building is closed

The White Lion Centre hosts a range of different services - the Listen Up project, the youth centre, Springboard Media, the Connexions service and New River College Key Stage 4 Pupil Referral Unit. The building will close on the 18 December for refurbishment.

Every effort is being made to ensure that young people will have access to services during the refurbishment. Services will be running and located in different venues in Islington. Find out more on the page below.

The new White Lion Centre is expected to open in early 2011.

New for 2010! E-zine – get your views out there!

Springboard Media is launching an online e-zine for young people. Using a blog format, it will present news, views, and interviews from a wide range of young people in Islington.

Springboard media will provide reporters with all the necessary training and support including journalism, photography, film, audio and web design. To get involved in the project contact Bashir on 020 7527 7015 or email bashir@springboardmedia.org.uk.
