Kate Greenaway is a very friendly Children's Centre including a Maintained Nursery School for babies and children aged 6 months to rising 5 years old. It is situated just behind Copenhagen Street near the junction with York Way. The Children's Centre is very popular with local mothers and fathers, and the services on offer have all been very highly rated by users. There are also opportunities to get involved in volunteering and developing new services - for example a group of parents have recently run a successful campaign on healthy eating for children. Kate Greenaway has a wonderful garden which children love playing in. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about children's health, development, and supporting families.
Our community services programme includes stay and play sessions for mothers and fathers; baby massage; parenting groups; art therapy. Family support is open to any family. Our Family Support Worker can help you support you child's development with play sessions at home, or in small groups at Kate Greenaway. Our Support Worker also helps families who are having difficulties - like feeling isolated and lonely, ill-health, family breakdown, finding it difficult to cope with the children. She works with mothers and fathers on agreeing a plan for help and support.
