School Admissions

School Admissions

There are many reasons why an Islington school could be just what you’re looking for. Take a look at the short video below to find out why parents and children are making Islington schools first choice.

Three kinds of school admission

Primary school Reception
If your child was born between 1 September 2006 and 31 August 2007 they will be due to start reception class in September 2011. Please select the primary school reception page on the left.

Secondary school transfer
If your child was born between 1 September 1999 and 31 August 2000 they will be due to start secondary school in September 2011. Please select the secondary school transfer page on the left.

In-year admissions
For any other primary or secondary school admission, please select the in-year admissions page on the left.

How to apply

If you live in Islington, you must apply for a school place using an Islington application form, even if you are applying for a school in another local authority outside Islington. If you do not live in Islington, you must apply using your home local authority’s form (ie the council to whom you pay your council tax).

To apply online for a place for either secondary school transfer or primary school reception, sign up at www.eadmissions.org.uk

You can also download and print a paper copy of the form via primary and secondary school pages on the left or find them in the back of our annual school admissions brochures.
