Learning Plus

The Learning Plus Team relocated to Cambridge Education @ Islington (which was then CEA@Islington) in April 2006, having formerly been established in the Children's Services Department of Islington Council.

We work with schools, local organisations and teams within LBI and Cambridge Education @ Islington to provide an extensive programme of Out of School Hours Learning (OSHL)and Study Support in Islington.

The aim of the programme is to raise young people’s confidence, self-esteem and educational achievement through activities that enrich, extend and enhance the curriculum. OSHL activities are designed to motivate children to become more effective learners. Learning Plus is committed to providing opportunities for young people who may not otherwise have access to OSHL.

Getting your child involved in out of school hours learning

Ask your child's teacher for information about the activities that are running in your child's school, and find out who the out of schools hours learning co-ordinator is. They should be able to tell you about any opportunities that may be coming up.

Running an out of school hours learning activity in your child's school

If you have a skill to offer and would like to run an out of school hours learning activity in your child's school, speak to the school's out of school hours learning co-ordinator or extended school co-ordinator.
