Islington has a statutory duty, which came into force on 27 February 2007, to secure education provision for all its residents who are of statutory school age (5-16 years old) in accordance with the Education and Inspections Act 2006. This process is monitored through Children Missing Education procedures which are an important mechanism for promoting children's educational achievement and safeguarding their welfare. The statutory guidance for local authorities is currently under review by the DCSF. To find out more please visit the websites listed on this page.
If you are aware of a child between the ages of 5-16 who is without a school place, please complete a notification form on this page and send to the address listed on the form.
