You can reserve specific books and music in any Islington library, whether they are already in stock or not. Weekly DVDs may also be reserved in the same way.
You can reserve items using one of the following methods:
Library Reservation Form. Use the link at the bottom of this page. Print this out, fill in the details and take it to your library.
Online Reservation Form. Click on the link on the right hand side for an online form to request items not currently in stock in Islington Libraries.
Online Catalogue . Use the link on the right, or find out more details below.
You need to be a member of the library to reserve an item. To find out how easy it is to join, click on the link for Joining the Library on the left.
There is a limit of ten reservations per borrower at any one time.
Reservations for items that are in stock are free. If we have to get an item
from a different library authority, you will have to pay a charge of £2.00.
You will be asked to confirm that you still wish to go ahead with the
reservation before we order it for you.
Details of all material held by the Islington's libraries are held by the Online Catalogue (available on the right).
Using the Online Catalogue, registered library users can:
reserve items already in stock in Islington Libraries
renew items you currently have on loan
find where items are located, how many copies there are and if items are on loan or not
check your details, such as current loans, reserved items and any charges
To access the Online Catalogue click the link under for Islington Libraries Catalogue under Useful Websites on the right.
For items that you think we may already have in stock, click on 'Place Reservation' once you are in the Online Catalogue.
Stock Suggestions You can also suggest particular items that we should add to our stock, or areas of stock that should be developed. Use the link on the right.
Please be aware that if you reserve newly-released music CDs, you may not get them for some time.
This is because we have to abide by an agreement that all libraries reached with the BPI (British Phonographic Industry), stating we will not loan an item until three months after its release date.
