Nurseries and Playgroups

Nurseries provide care and education for children under five years. Some nurseries take babies from three months. Nurseries are run by the council, by schools, by community groups or are privately run.

OfSTED (the Office for Standards in Education) inspects all nurseries regularly. Nursery reports can be viewed at the OfSTED website by clicking on the link under Useful Websites, on the right-hand side of this page.
