After school clubs

Things to do: young people aged 5 to 21

After school clubs run in term time from Monday to Friday, 3.30-6pm and cater for children aged 5-11. For information about costs please contact your child’s school or provider.

Please download the list below for a full list of adventure playgrounds, community after school clubs and some other out of school activities.

To view the location of all the after school clubs in the borough, click the Interactive Maps link on the right under Do It. Select Education then After School Clubs from the list on the right. You can then use the 'identify' tool to display informaton about each club.

Breakfast clubs

Your child's primary school or secondary school will tell you if it has a breakfast club or other breakfast provision. Over 60% of Islington schools can provide breakfast and those that do exist provide choices including fruit, toast, cereal and juice and you can be sure that your child will be on time for school. They are very low cost. The age range is usually 5 - 11.

For a full list of breakfast clubs, see the document below.

Holiday schemes

Holiday schemes are run by a wide range of community and council funded organisations, mainly for children aged 5 to 14 years. Some nurseries have told us that they can take extra children aged 3 to 5 years. There are some schemes designed for children with special needs. The list below also includes some information on sports, arts and leisure activities.

Most of the schemes run in most of the holidays and we also produce a December list of festive things to do over the Christmas holidays and new year.

Costs may depend on your income. For more information, click on the link to Paying for Childcare on the right.

For term dates please see the link on the right.
