Supporting Quality Childminding

Welcome to the Childminding section of the CIS website. Here you'll find lots of information for people who are:

  • thinking about using a childminder
  • thinking about becoming a childminder
  • already registered childminders in Islington

Childminding is nationally the most popular type of daycare chosen by parents/carers.

Childminding offers children of all ages:

  • Quality childcare based in the childminder's home
  • Learning experiences appropriate to the child's age and development
  • Continuity of care

Childminding offers parents/carers flexibility of hours to suit their needs.

Choosing a childminder can be a difficult decision for parents. To help you, there is a booklet produced by the National Childminding Association (NCMA), "The NCMA guide to choosing the right childminder". To obtain a copy call freephone 0800 1694486 or visit the NCMA website from the useful websites box.
