Policy

This section contains more information and downloads on the council's policies and vision.

Planning and Monitoring

We link our service, financial and corporate planning processes to ensure that we base our financial aspirations on our service commitments and objectives, both for the coming year and in the medium-term. On this page you can find out more about how we plan and monitor our performance.

The Corporate Plan

The One Islington Corporate Plan replaces last year's Delivering One Islington plan. The document provides a clear statement on:

  • our vision for Islington over the next three years and beyond
  • our ambitions for this period, how we plan to achieve them and when
  • how we will strengthen our ability to deliver
  • our plans to finance our priorities

Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA)

The CPA is the independent Audit Commission judgement that scores every council in England.

The result of the 2005 CPA is that Islington Council is 'improving well' and has been awarded three stars out of a possible four. This is further progress on 2004, when the Audit Commission described Islington as the fastest improving council in the country.

Best Value Performance Plans (BVPP)

Our Best Value Performance Plans for the past four years can be found in this section.

Islington Performance at a Glance

The council collects performance data from all its departments. Some of these are for statutory bodies, e.g. all departments contributing to Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPIs) are for the Audit Commission (AC), and Adult Social Services contribute to Performance Assessment Framework for the Commission of Social Care Inspection (CSCI). Here you can see results for key Performance Indicators (PI) and find links to further PI information.
