Electoral Registration

Electoral Services compile and maintain the Register of Electors which is published on 1 December each year.

If you need to register to vote see the section on the left called Registering to Vote.

Elections

Working on behalf of the Returning Officer, Electoral Services also manage and organise all elections in the borough.

Elections to Islington Council are held every four years and the next elections will be on 6 May 2010.

The UK Parliamentary General Election must be held by June 2010. The Prime Minister decides the exact date.

Elections to the Greater London Authority and the European Parliament are also administered by the Electoral Services team.

The next planned elections will be held as follows

  • elections for Islington Council: 6 May 2010
  • elections for the UK Parliament before June 2010
  • elections for the London Mayor and Assembly: May 2012
  • elections for the European Parliament: June 2014
