Set up your direct debit online today. Click on Online Direct Debit Form for Council Tax on the right under Do It Online.

If you have more than one signatory for your account, download the Council Tax Direct Debit Mandate at the bottom of this page. Print this out and complete it, then send it via post to:

Monthly prize draw for direct debit payers

Residents who pay their council tax by direct debit are entered into a prize draw made on the last Friday of each month.

The monthly prizes are:

  • April 2008: £500 cycle voucher
  • May 2008: £500 supermarket voucher
  • June 2008: Weekend trip to Paris for two
  • July 2008: Family weekend trip to Alton Towers
  • August: 2008: £1000 cash
  • September 2008: A laptop
  • October 2008: A healthy living pack
  • November 2008: £500 Oyster Card
  • December 2008: Family membership to our leisure centres for one year
  • January 2009: £1000 cash
  • February 2009: An i-pod and digital camera
  • March 2009: A month of London fun - tickets to five top attractions plus a show

Monthly prize draw conditions

All council tax payers using direct debit to pay their council tax will be entered into the monthly prize draws automatically. The same conditions as the discount apply for entry each month:

  • the prize draw will take place on the last Friday of each month
  • the prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash
  • all winners will be notified in writing
  • winners may be asked to participate in publicity surrounding the draw

Help Reduce Islington’s Carbon Footprint

You may wish to donate your £20 to the Climate Change Fund, and help us tackle climate change.

Last year, over 1,200 residents donated their discount to help Islington residents, community groups and businesses reduce their carbon footprint.

When you set up your direct debit using our online form, please tick the box that asks you if you would like to donate your £20 discount to the Climate Change Fund.

Direct Debit Discount Conditions

In order to be entitled to the direct debit discount, you must meet the following conditions:

  • the direct debit instruction must not be cancelled during the year
  • all instalments must be paid on time, without 'refer to payer' recalls
  • your annual net council tax bill must exceed £20

If these conditions are not met, the offer may be fully or partially withdrawn.
