An event for visually impaired people in Islington on 2 July will see up to 40 service users be given their first experience of a council service directory, especially created for them.
The 'Changing Views' event at Islington's Outlook Centre in Archway will launch the Directory of Services for Blind and Partially Sighted People in Islington.
The Directory has been produced by Islington Council and NHS Islington following consultation with visually impaired people in Islington.
Cllr Ursula Woolley, Executive Member for Health and Adult Social Care, Islington Council said:
"As a council we are committed to improving access to council services and information for everyone.
"Visually impaired people have been able to request information in large print and braille for some time but now we are providing all of our information in different formats.
"It means more choice for visually impaired people and will help them access the services many of us take for granted."
Available in audio, online, large print, braille, and CD ROM formats, the Directory gives details of over 200 council and partner services in multiple formats to make accessing information a breeze.
Visually impaired residents, carers, friends and families are welcome at the launch which will be followed by lunch, entertainment and free wellbeing treatments.
