New chapter for dads with free Islington story workshops

Date: 06-Apr-09 by Chris Roe

DADS and their children aged 3-5 are being invited to free storytelling workshops from Islington Council.

The What's the Story Dad? workshops on Saturdays later this month (April) will see storyteller Paul Lyalls offering ideas about reading and enjoying books.

Cllr Ruth Polling, Islington Council's Executive Member for Leisure and Equalities, said: "These unusual workshops from our libraries team have proved very popular with Islington dads in the past.

"It's a great chance to come and get some expert tips on story-telling - and it won't cost dads a penny."

The workshops take place on: Saturday 25 April between 10am-noon at North Library, Manor Gardens, N7 (nr Odeon Cinema); Saturday 25 April 2pm-4pm at South Library, 115 Essex Road, N1 (near Cross St.); Saturday 16 May 10am-noon at Central Library, 2 Fieldway Crescent, N5 (off Holloway Road) and Saturday 16 May 2pm–4pm at West Library, Bridgeman Road, N1 (off Caledonian Rd.)

Their are 10 pairs of tickets for each session. Parents should contact Geoff James at geoff.james@slington.gov.uk or on 020 7527 6997 to book a place or find out more.
