A new consultation on the future of Archway is literally at residents' fingertips - thanks to a high-tech touch screen in the local Post Office.

Islington Council 's town centre management team is asking people how the area can be improved as a place to live, shop and visit.

As part of that process, an electronic screen has been installed in Archway Post Office - the second busiest in the borough with more than 5,000 customers each week - so people who use the town centre can pop into the post office to answer multiple-choice questions.

Cllr Lucy Watt, Deputy Leader of Islington Council, said: "We want as many people as possible locally to comment on future improvements in Archway.

"Residents' replies to the survey will guide the decisions about what improvements we make. Working with the local post office and supporting it is very important to us.

"The Archway Post Office is always very busy and I hope some people when they are in there will use the touch screen who might not write out and send back a paper questionnaire."

A longer, paper-based form has also been posted out to local residents.

Residents and visitors can also pick up a paper questionnaire in the post office if they prefer, or they can fill in the survey on-line at the council's web site at http://www.islington.gov.uk/consultation

ENDS

For more information please call Chris Weeks on 020 7527 3032
