Islington Council has hosted the 2006 Green Fleet Awards ceremony at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.
The awards recognise public and private sector organisations which have made the most positive impact on the environment through their management and innovation.
At the event on 12 October 2006, racing driver and Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Needell presented the awards in 23 categories which included Best Private/Public Sector Fleet, Fleet Manager of the Year, Green Dealership, Alternative Fuel Supplier and more.
Lucy Watt, Executive Member for Environment, Islington Council said "I am honored that Islington were chosen to host this event at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal is at the heart of borough and green issues are at the heart of our agenda - even some of our dustcarts run on greener fuels. Once again, Islington leads the way, setting the standard with our Green Fleet.
These awards highlight the changes organisations can adopt to make a positive difference to the environment - as well as saving money in the longer term."
