Rubbish will get collected this August Bank Holiday Monday (28 August) - thanks to a customer-friendly service provided by Islington Council.
Disrupted rubbish collections during Bank Holidays are unpopular and confusing to some of the thousands of residents who have a Monday collection. That is why service will continue as usual in Islington.
Islington Council has 20 daily refuse rounds, six recycling bag rounds for estates and four street property rounds for green boxes and green/food waste.
In addition a clean team of 200 sweepers on 112 sweeping beats keep the borough's 2,500 miles of roads and pavements clean and tidy.
Cllr Lucy Watt, Executive Member for Environment, said:
"We've been doing this for a year now and the feedback has been positive. Residents told us they didn't know when to put their rubbish out over the holidays so by standardising the collection, we've made things simpler."
