The next phase of Newlon Housing Trust's Arsenal redevelopment scheme will be unveiled on Wednesday May 24 by the new Mayor of Islington, Cllr Jyoti Vaja, leading a ceremony at the property on Hornsey Street.

With Arsenal Football Club's move to their new stadium, Islington Council has been working with Newlon Housing Trust, as well as the club to develop housing in the area.

The latest part of the development will comprise flats for local families as well as apartments for key workers.

New Mayor, Cllr Jyoti Vaja said: "Islington Council is committed to bringing 4,000 new homes to the borough in the next four years. We want people from all walks of life to be able to live here, and the provision of affordable accommodation on the Arsenal development is crucial to achieving that.

"The Arsenal development has created 2,500 new homes and created 1,800 new jobs, helping more people live and work in the borough."

Mike Hinch Newlon's Chief Executive added: "Newlon has been working in co-operation with Islington Council and Arsenal F.C. for some years on this project and it is great to see the homes begin to take shape."
