Rubbish will get collected this Easter Bank Holiday on Friday (14 April 2006) and Monday (17 April 2006) and on the following three Bank Holidays. This is the result of a deal agreed between Islington Council and its waste management contractors ICSL.
Both the council and it's contractor ICSL agree that disrupted rubbish collections during bank holidays are unpopular and confusing to some of the thousands of residents who have a Friday or Monday collection.
Islington Council has 21 refuse rounds daily, six recycling rounds for green boxes and four rounds for green/organic waste. In addition a clean team of 200 sweepers on 18 sweeping beats keep the borough's 2,500 miles of roads and pavements clean and tidy.
ENDS
Other collection dates Monday 1 May, 29 May 2006.
