Businesses along Islington's famous shopping streets and the landmark Upper Street Town Hall are among the properties that will now be managed by specialists after Islington Council today/yesterday (Monday) announced a new partnership with property management professionals Dunlop Haywards.
Commercial properties in both Amwell Street and St John's Street shopping parades are included in a new contract which means more efficient and better services for shops and businesses in council-owned buildings, by experts in the field of public sector property consultancy.
Under the agreement, signed today, Dunlop Haywards will manage all aspects of the council's commercial property from rent collection to strategic advice, for the next three years.
Dunlop Haywards have also worked with Lambeth, Ealing, Westminster, Wandsworth Councils, and have over 10 years of experience in providing property advice to London authorities.
Cllr Arnie Gibbons, executive member for resources, said: "This new partnership will offer even better value for money for Islington residents and businesses. I am pleased that a company with extensive experience and expertise in this field are working with us to manage our commercial property efficiently, and to build excellent relationships with our commercial tenants."
Stephen Armitage, Managing Director of Dunlop Haywards (South) said: "We are very excited to be awarded this contract and for the opportunity contribute to the success of Islington Council. The instruction strengthens Dunlop Haywards' position, as market leaders in outsourced public sector consultancy."
