Islington Council wants you to Keep it green and recycle your Christmas tree.
Over eight million real Christmas trees were bought in the UK last year, most of which will just be thrown away. However, in Islington the council has made it even easier for residents to recycle their Christmas trees.
Resident Lorenzo Valderramo who lives in Drayton Park, N5 said: “I am really delighted that it's been so easy to recycle my tree, I really wanted it to be recycled rather than ending up in landfill and now it takes practically no effort to make sure that happens.”
Councillor Bridget Fox, Executive member for sustainability, said: “The council will be providing a variety of services for residents to recycle their Christmas trees. I would strongly encourage everyone to contribute to making our borough cleaner and greener by recycling their tree.”
