Islington Council released 35 balloons - one for each child in the borough in need of a new home yesterday (Monday 7 November).<br><br>Councillor James Kempton, executive member for children explained: "Adoption can be an incredibly rewarding experience and we still need more adoptive families in Islington. <br><br>"There are 35 children who for what ever reason need a new loving family. It doesn't matter if your single, a couple; married or living together we want to hear from you. You really could make all the difference to a Childs life so why not find out more about adopting."<br><br>The council is calling on people to take the first step towards adopting and giving a child a loving home. Adoptive families are particularly needed for older children, brothers and sisters and children from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds. <br><br>Islington Council made its appeal during National Adoption Week – a UK-wide campaign organised by the British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF). The campaign aims to help find families for up to 4,000 children across the UK who are waiting to be adopted. <br><br>Anyone interested in adopting should contact Islington Adoption Service 12 Highbury Crescent, London N5 or call 020 7527 4400.<br><br>Ends
