The latest report from the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) has confirmed that St Patrick's Secondary School in Tower Hamlets, London, is continuing to improve and standards are rising. <br><br>The Chairman of Tower Hamlets Education (Schools) Committee, Councillor Hugh White congratulated the school on its achievement and said: <br><br>"This is another step in the right direction for St Patrick's School. When the school was first inspected in 1995, it was seriously criticised. This report is evidence of how far it has moved forward. St Patrick's has achieved high standards due to hard work, high expectations and excellent teaching and leadership skills.<br><br>"It's commendable that a school where more than two-thirds of its students are learning English as an additional language, has improved above the national trend.<br><br>The Ofsted report highlighted:<br>Standards in English and Science are particularly good throughout the whole school.<br>The head teacher and key members of staff provide outstanding leadership and there's a very effective governing body which supports them.<br>The school provides rich learning opportunities for all pupils.<br>The students behaviour is extremely good -- they work very hard and they are proud of their school.<br>The school has a very effective partnership with parents.<br><br>"Everyone at Tower Hamlets is fully behind the school and we congratulate the whole team and the school community on their achievements."
