There's only three weeks left and the message from Islington Council is clear - 'Don't lose your vote'.<br><br>Only 60% of the people living in Islington have registered and currently have the right to vote in forthcoming elections. <br><br>A new electoral register, which will be used for the local elections on Thursday 4 May 2006, will be published on Thursday 1 December. <br><br>Mayor, Jonathan Dearth who was at Islington's N1 centre last weekend encouraging people to fill in a registration form said: <br><br>"Everyone should register to vote as it affects everything you do. Voting is your opportunity to have your say, so don't lose it. Fill in your form and send it back to the council by 21 November to get your vote."<br><br>Final reminders are being posted to all the properties who haven't registered. Residents have until Monday 21 November to fill in the form and return to the council.<br> <br>Copies of the registration form are available from www.islington.gov.uk, or from the council's registration office by calling 020 7527 3110.<br><br>Contact Islington, will be calling people who haven't registered yet in November to give them a gentle reminder.<br> <br>Residents must renew their registration every year to be certain of being to vote in local Council, national and European Parliamentary elections. <br> <br>All British, other Commonwealth and European Union member state citizens can register to vote.<br><br>The register is also used by credit agencies and those residents who are not registered will find it harder to get any form of credit.<br><br>Ends
