********PHOTO OPPORTUNITY************<br><br>Date: 21 October 2005<br>Time: 3.30 pm<br>Place: Cranwood, 100 Woodside Avenue, Musewell Hill, N10<br>Event: Oldest Mayor celebrates her 100th birthday with youngest Mayor<br><br>A retired councillor Mrs Agnes Seeley who was also Islington's Mayor between May 1960 to April 1961, celebrates her 100th birthday on 21 October. A dedicated public servant, Mrs Seeley who now lives in a residential home in the neighbouring borough of Haringey (Muswell Hill), was still attending Islington Council's annual council meetings up until seven years ago.<br><br>Haringey's social services department is organising a party for her and Islington's current Mayor, Cllr Jonathan Dearth has received a special invitation to share the excitement when she reads the contents of her congratulatory letter from the queen. Cllr Dearth is the youngest man to be elected as the Mayor.<br><br>Cllr Dearth said: "This is a wonderful landmark for our former Mayor Agnes Seeley and one worthy of note in Islington. She was at my first annual council in 1998. I congratulate her on this significant day and thank her for her time as Mayor on behalf of the residents of Islington. I only hope I'll be around in 2068 to be visited by the Mayor then."<br><br>End
