Sixth formers from Central Foundation, Highbury Fields and Highbury Grove secondary schools celebrated their A level results today. Islington sixth from consortium's provisional borough-wide result (average point score) has improved by 31.2 points, which equates to a 21.3% improvement on last year’s results.<br><br>Bill Clark, Director of Schools’ Services, CEA@Islington said: ‘Congratulations to all the students who received their A level results today. Over the last three years there has been an increase in the number of pupils entered into A-level examinations in our secondary schools and an improvement in the overall results.<br><br>‘A levels open up a huge range of possibilities for young people. I wish Islington’s A-level candidates every success with whatever they choose to do next, whether it’s taking up a university place or entering the world of work. Thanks to all the teachers and headteachers of Central Foundation, Highbury Fields and Highbury Grove for their commitment to this year’s sixth formers and for raising the standards of education in Islington for another year.’<br><br>Councillor James Kempton, executive member for children, said: ‘Congratulations to all the A level students receiving their results today. It’s very encouraging to see Islington’s young people doing so well.
