In addition over 150 adult learners signed up for courses across Islington’s 20 online centres and claimed their free flash drive.

Andy, who regularly uses the Islington Online Bus, said, “I have been using the bus for 5 o 6 months now, it is absolutely wonderful - the best bus ride I have ever been on.”

Councillor Meral Ece, executive member for health and social care for adults and lead on lifelong learning, said “Congratulations to the lucky winners. The ability to access information through the net and make use of technology is becoming increasingly important. This is why our network of online centres provide such a vital service, not just in terms of allowing people to access the net for free, but also helping them gain the skills to take advantage of the wealth of information and services available online.”

Notes for editors

Islington's 20 Neighbourhood Learning Centres can be found at:
· Central Library, Holloway Road, N7 - First Steps
· Goswell Road - ECI - The Goswell Centre
· City and Islington College (Local) Junction Road
· City and Islington College (Andover Centre) Andover Estate
· The Crouch Hill Community Centre
· Hilldrop ICT Centre - Hilldrop Neighbourhood Learning Centre
· HNG Multi Media - Fire station
· CSV Multi Media Clubhouse
· Elfrida Rathbone Society
· Market Estate (Hyde Housing Association) - Market Online
· Mayville Community Centre - Mayville Neighbourhood Learning Centre
· Islington Online Mobile Computer Bus
· Film and Video Workshop @Hungerford School
· Arsenal Red Zone - Arsenal Football Club
· Durham Road Lifelong Learning Centre
Elizabeth House Lifelong Learning Centre
Hanley Crouch Lifelong Learning Centre
· Thornhill Neighbourhood Project - Thornhill Neighbourhood
Learning Centre
· Islington African Project - Elthorne Learning Centre Project
· Platform 1 @ EGA School

winners
Sue Wingate - User of First Steps Learning Centre
Andy Barlow - Use of the Islington Online Bus
