Rubbish will get collected this August Bank Holiday Monday - thanks to a new customer-friendly service provided by Islington Council.<br><br>The council recognises that disrupted rubbish collections during bank holidays were unpopular and confusing some of the 20,000 plus residents who have a Monday collection. <br><br>Cllr Bridget Fox, executive member for sustainability said:<br><br>"We've listened to residents and negotiated a better deal for Islington - the changes mean we now provide a seamless collection service which benefits the borough as a whole."<br><br>Islington Council has 21 refuse rounds daily, 6 recycling rounds for green boxes and <br>4 rounds for green/organic waste. In addition a clean team of 200 sweepers on 83 sweeping beats keep the 2,500 miles of roads and pavements clean and tidy.<br><br>ENDS
