There's a packed programme of things for children and young people to do throughout Islington during the summer holidays (25 July - September).<br><br>Whether it's in one of the 35 play schemes, 20 youth projects and 12 adventure playgrounds, 7 leisure centres, 12 nurseries, 10 libraries or 15 parks and squares there really is something for everyone. <br><br>"This summer there around 1700 childcare places available with lots of activities run and supported by the council. There's childcare for working families, subsidised places for families on benefit and drop in activities. And our Summer University, schemes for children with special needs, adventure play grounds and play schemes will provide our children with fun places to go keeping them occupied during the long summer break.<br><br>"We have worked with Aquaterra, EC1 New Deal and other voluntary sector organisations to make sure that is a full range of activities and places for our young people, says Cllr James Kempton, executive member for children.<br><br>Every play scheme in the north, south east and west of the borough will have enough places for children who want one.
