Islington celebrates Toy library week

Monday 13 to Saturday 18 June 2005 is toy library week and Islington Council is inviting parents to bring and their children to find out more about what Islington's 20 plus toy libraries can offer.<br><br>Islington's toy libraries are a crucial provision for families and carers. They offer exciting and fun toys for children aged 5 and under and best of all they're free! Parents and careers can borrow toys as well as books and story tapes for their children.<br><br>Toy libraries have a wide range of good quality toys that are fun, strong,<br>educational and safe wooden and construction and as well as musical instruments. The toy library also offers a meeting place for parents and carers and gives them a chance to find out more about what their local library has to offer.<br><br>The Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYDCP) has been working on developing and supporting the borough's toy libraries.<br><br>Councillor Emma Gowers, chair of Islington's EYDCP, said "It is so valuable for parents and carers to be able to get together within a community.
