Up to £500 is available for small local projects and events and a maximum of £3,000 for larger events. Up to £5,000 is available for projects taking place throughout the year. Funding for events can cover entertainment and licence fees, hire of halls, publicity and contribution to refreshments, but not alcohol!Funding for projects can cover workshop leaders, hire of venues, publicity and publication costs and administration.Councillor Bridget Fox, executive member for sustainability said: “WWII is an important part of our nations history and I’m delighted that the council can help organisations commemorate it. The world has changed a lot during the past 60 years and it is important that we remember the courage and sacrifices of the many people who were involved. There are so many stories from the war that should be shared and kept for future generations. I would like to encourage as many groups as possible to apply for funding.”Closing Dates for applications is Friday 4 March 2005. Applications should be made to Cripplegate Foundation.
