Islington Council is getting right behind the capital's bid for the Olympics and flying the London 2012 flag from the top of the Town Hall.Councillor Laura Willoughby was joined by three members of the Highbury Grove swimming team Mark Feltham (11), Shaun Edmunds (11) and Karl Balansay (11) to give their support to London's Olympic bid.“The Olympics coming to London will be good for everyone. The atmosphere will be fantastic, we'll get first rate sporting facilities and Islington will play its' part. Our shops, hotels and communities will be benefit - it really will be good for Islington. Some of the future Olympian's could be here in Islington so we need to nuture the talent we have. "We really think that London can win and we need you to back the bid - London is trying to get 1 million people to back the bid before the IOC visit - be one in a million and register your support by going to www.london2012.com or text LONDON82012, says Cllr Laura Willoughby, executive member for communities.Islington will play its part with the Sobell centre as the table tennis training venue and the Business Design Centre for Boxing Training. Finsbury Park will hold baseball training and will be on of the nine athletics venues.
