Ashmount Primary School site
A public consultation for the draft planning brief for the Ashmount Primary School site is being held between Monday 6 February and Friday 16 March 2012.
Ashmount Primary School will relocate to a new site in Crouch Hill in October 2012 and the current Ashmount Primary School site will become vacant.
The Council is preparing a draft planning brief to guide any future development on the Ashmount Primary School site. This text briefly summarises the draft planning brief. It also tells you how you can find out more. We would like your views on the draft planning brief.
Planning briefs play an important role in helping to shape how a site could be developed and what benefits the development should bring to the local community. It will be used to guide decisions on future planning applications for the site.

The Council must consult on any plan that requires the disposal or change of use of school playing fields.
Ashmount Primary School will relocate to a new site in Crouch Hill in October 2012 and the current Ashmount Primary School site will become vacant. Therefore the Council intends to declare the Ashmount Primary School site surplus to educational requirements from October 2012, and is consulting on the disposal of the school playing fields from Monday 6 February to Tuesday 8 May 2012.

The consultation results will be published here later this year.
The Council's Executive will be asked to consider the public consultation feedback and adopt the planning brief on Tuesday 15 May 2012.
The target audience for the public consultation includes: Local residents, in particular neighbours of adjacent properties on Hornsey Lane, Ashmount Road, Gresley Road and Whitehall Park; Local organisations, including the Ashmount School Action Group, the Highgate Society, and the Crouch Hill Neighbourhood Group; Haringey Council; Local Businesses; Adjoining Land owners; Interested parties, including statutory bodies (such as the Greater London Authority, Transport for London and the emergency services); and The Hillrise Ward Partnership.
Copies of the leaflets that will be used to notify interested parties of public consultation on the draft planning brief will be delivered to Ward Councillors and the relevant Executive Members prior to the commencement of the public consultation period. A meeting will be organised with local organisations such as Ashmount School Action Group, and the Crouch Hill Neighbourhood Group as soon as convenient. At the commencement of the public consultation period, the leaflet will be: Delivered by the Council to properties located in the catchment area shown in Appendix A below (the catchment area falls within Hillrise Ward in Islington and the Crouch End and Highgate Wards in Haringey); Emailed or posted to local organisations and other people that have asked to be kept informed; and Posted on the Council's website;
