Delivering Islington's Prevention of Homelessness Strategy

Consultation Dates: 20 June 2007 to 21 June 2007


The conference theme, on the 20 June 2007, was Delivering Islington's Prevention of Homelessness Strategy. We invited a wide range of stakeholders to attend the conference and exchange ideas.

The invited speakers were: Mark Meehan from Communities and Local Government, who spoke about the national perspective on prevention of homelessness, and Sean McLaughlin from Islington Council who outlined Islington's prevention of homelessness strategy.

The speakers were followed by a number of workshops during which the participants had the opportunity to discuss issues around the prevention of homelessness in Islington.

Target Groups

This conference has been organised to make stakeholders aware of our Prevention of Homelessness Strategy and the actions we propose to take. Our aim is to build on the achievements of our previous homelessness strategy. Working with our partners to successfully deliver and implement our current prevention of homelessness strategy which takes account of current government thinking, is routed in good practice, innovative and adopts a range of interventions. The target groups were
