Outside the Town Hall As you arrive at the Town Hall, the first thing you notice is the impressive, white façade. The front of the Town Hall provides a beautiful backdrop for photos and has appeared on various television programs. Can’t you just imagine yourself pulling up to the front door in your limousine…? The Town Hall can be reached easily by car, and public transport. However there is no parking outside the Town Hall and street parking is restricted. There are disabled parking spaces in the car park, but they also are restricted and we suggest that you contact us to see if one can be pre-booked. Reception The marble floored reception area just inside the front door takes you to the bottom of the staircase leading to the Council Chamber and Wedding Room. For your wedding there will be fresh flowers waiting to greet you on your arrival.
Stairs The beautiful sweeping marble staircase with its glass-domed ceiling, leads you from the reception the upper vestibule area. This staircase is one of the major features of many of the wedding photos.
Vestibule This is the waiting area for both the Marriage Room and the Council Chamber. Your guests gather and wait here before the ceremony.
Hallway With marble floors and stunning architecture, the arched ceilings and windows of our hallway make a stunning backdrop for your photos, especially on a sunny day when the light streams through the windows!
Wedding room Our marriage room has been refurbished to be in keeping with the character of the rest of the building. It is a bright and welcoming room that seats 30 guests. The room has the lovely old partners' desk and seating from the old Finsbury Town Hall marriage room - it also has the same relaxed atmosphere.
Chamber room Huge stained glass windows, wooden panelling, lush deep red carpet, a balcony, and high domed ceiling all make this completely circular room a truly luscious venue for your ceremony. The standard of our Council Chamber is equal to that of any of our licensed venues, however the Town Hall is not licensed for wedding receptions. The chamber seats up to 100 downstairs and the public gallery seats an extra 60.
