Naming Ceremonies
Civil Naming Ceremony
This ceremony is offered not only for the welcoming of babies but of all
children in a family unit. It allows the parents to welcome the baby (or other
children) into the family and to make the promises of commitment to them. It
also provides an opportunity for grandparents, older brothers and sisters and
other relatives or friends to offer support and guidance through the making of
promises to the child or children.
