If you are both European Union (EU) citizens and both resident in Islington
then you are free to get married or form a civil partnership at any venue
within England or Wales that is licensed for civil ceremonies. As residents of
Islington you will both need to give your notices to a Superintendent
Registrar at Islington Town Hall at least 16 days before the date of your
ceremony.
If you are both EU citizens and only one of you is resident in Islington you
are still free to get married or form a civil partnership at any venue within
England or Wales that is licensed for civil ceremonies. However, only the
person resident in Islington will need to give their notice to a
Superintendent Registrar at Islington Town Hall. The other person will need to
give their notice to the Superintendent Registrar of the district in which
they live (or have lived for the preceding seven days). This must be done at
least 16 days before the date of your ceremony.
The cost for notices is £30.00 each, which must be paid to the Superintendent
Registrar at the time of giving notice.
An appointment system for notices is in operation at Islington Town Hall.
Contact the Registrars if you wish to book an appointment.
