The ISP Board has representation from all sectors including statutory, voluntary and community and business sectors in the borough. These include:
The ISP Board meets bi-monthly and is chaired by the Leader of the Council, Cllr James Kempton. It currently has 20 Board Members, and a number of Associate Members, including those chairs of ISP Thematic Partnerships who do not otherwise have a seat on the Board. The ISP Board is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the Partnership, including high-level priorities for Islington’s Local Area Agreement and Sustainable Community Strategy. The Executive consists of ten ISP Board members and is chaired by the Chief Executive of Islington Council, John Foster. It meets on a bi-monthly basis (in alternative months to Board meetings) and is responsible for the operational ‘business’ of the Partnership. Its' main responsibilities include:
monitoring the overall implementation and delivery of the Local Area Agreement
The ISP has five thematic groups or partnerships. These groups deliver the priorities set out in Islington's Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) and Local Area Agreement (LAA). Each group has responsibility for delivering a number of LAA targets. Some of the groups have a wider role, beyond that of delivering the LAA on behalf of the ISP. Others were established specifically for the ISP.
Each Thematic Partnership has responsibility for specific indicators in the LAA. A list of indicators sorted by Thematic Partnership is attached below.
Islington Community Network (ICN) aims to provide a forum for Voluntary and Community networks across Islington. Twenty five voluntary and community networks are members including:
ICN was created to promote the interests of voluntary and community organisations in Islington, to build relationships with the public and private sector, often through the ISP. One of their key aims is to build capacity with voluntary and community groups who are making use of ICT.
Members from the Islington Community Network also sit on the ISP Board, Executive and Theme Groups to represent the community.
The Islington Community Network is supported by Islington Voluntary Action Council (IVAC).
For further details use the link to the ICN website at the side of the page
The ISP Board and Executive are supported by a central team – the ISP Business Unit. Contact details are available under ‘Contact Us’.
The five thematic partnerships have support officers based within the Council or partner organisations.
