Funding Information

Funding Information

The Islington Strategic Partnership has responsibility for allocation of funding pooled as part of its Local Area Agreement (LAA). Funding streams currently pooled, in 2007-08, include:

  • Neighbourhood Renewal Fund
  • Safer and Stronger Communities Funding streams
  • Pump Priming Grant
  • A range of funding streams associated with young people, education and schools
  • Waste Performance Efficiency Grant

This list is not exhaustive and will change next year when we develop our new LAA which will run from 2008-11.

How is funding allocated?

The ISP allocates LAA funding to our five theme groups and to the Islington Community Network. Each theme group is allocated a set of LAA targets, and will commission projects and services to deliver these targets. For further information on individual theme group targets and on what has been commissioned through LAA funding, click on the theme group link.

The ISP has also set aside a sum of LAA funding for:

  • The Islington Community Chest – a small grants programme aimed at local voluntary and community sector organisations. This is administered through the Cripplegate Foundation. Further information can be found on the Cripplegate Foundation website - use the link under Useful Websites.

  • Neighbourhood Management – this brings together key service providers and voluntary and community sector organisations in the most deprived areas in Islington to identify local problems and plan how to tackle them together.
