There are a number of academic institutions in the borough, which have a huge range of part-time and full-time courses. Islington Council fund adult education classes at City and Islington College, where older people can get discounts on their tuition fees. You can also book your courses online!
Age Works is a project run by leading anti-ageism campaigning organisation Wise Owls. It aims to connect older people from Islington, and other central London boroughs, with employers to provide valuable work experience. The project is supported by the Learning Skills Council and there are very real prospects for older people to make their way into meaningful paid work through this scheme.

There are also a number of UKonline centres in Islington where you can access the internet and find out about computer courses.
Islington Online is a network of 20 neighbourhood learning centres and a mobile computer bus. The learning centres offer free courses at a range of easily accessible community centres, schools and libraries throughout the borough.
