Fireworks Licences

The Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005 (MSER) means that businesses wishing to sell fireworks need to register with the council.

Since January 2005 retailers have required a special licence to sell fireworks all year round. If you do not have a licence to sell throughout the year, you may only sell fireworks during the following periods:

• 15 October - 10 November
• 26 December - 1 January
• Chinese New Year (4 days before, including the day of Chinese New Year)
• Diwali (4 days before, including the day of Diwali )
