About IBET

About IBET

J. Preedy and Son Ltd., local glazing contractors

IBET is a local procurement initiative funded by the London Development Agency (LDA) and Islington Council's Regeneration Department. IBET was originally set up by Islington Council in 2005 to help local companies, community groups and individuals benefit fully from the £800m Arsenal development. In 2006 the project was extended to include major developments throughout the borough.

For local businesses – we provide practical advice and information about contracts, key contacts and time scales.

For developers and contractors – we can put you in touch with suitable local businesses to work with you.

For community businesses and individuals – we focus on exploring post-construction business ideas and opportunities.

Our Aims

The aims of IBET are:

  • To ensure as many local businesses as possible are selected to bid for, and are subsequently awarded, contracts on Wilmington property development.

  • To encourage new businesses, community and social enterprises, to take up opportunities generated by the developments.
