Islington has a number of business support networks, forums and initiatives.
As well as providing an opportunity to network with other local businesses,
they enable the views and concerns of firms to be raised with the council and
other agencies.
Specialist networks, such as Pubwatch, focus
on the needs of particular traders. While initiatives, such as at the Nag's
Head, are partnerships that include the council, police and other players to
create an area which is clean, safe, accessible and provides a high quality
environment for businesses, residents and visitors.
At the
Angel, businesses have voted to make the area a Business Improvement District
(BID). As a result, this initiative will see enhanced services, particularly
around security and environmental improvements in the area.
