Your journeys

If you are at a reasonable distance from your destination and are able to, why not cut your costs by
walking or cycling – great for you – great for the planet.

Tips on using TfL’s Journey Planner to plan your route

  • Walking - Scroll to the bottom of the home page to select the walking options.
  • Cycling – In the advanced section remove the ticks from the other boxes (e.g. train, bus etc...)
  • Bus\Underground\Train – Deselect the tick boxes in the advanced section as appropriate

Walking

Ideally you should take at least 10,000 steps per day (around 5 miles).
Walking to your destination is a good way to reach your recommended number of steps per day.

Cycling

If you need a confidence boost to get you back on your bike you can attend one of our cycling training sessions.
Visit the link to our Cycling Training page in the right hand menu.

Islington Council is encouraging residents to surrender their parking permits.
In return they will receive a £200 voucher towards a new bike or Streetcar membership and drive hours.
See the link to our Vouchers for Permits page in the right hand menu.
